View Image Hi all,
Two days ago I received my Brother PC 6000 from who else but Mr. Vac and Mrs. Sew and today I finished going through the manual.
When I unpacked everything, I noticed there was a twin needle included but cannot find any information on how to use it with this machine.
Can anyone instruct me on either how to use it or where I could find information on how to use it?
BTW, I love this sewing machine and am amazed at what it can do and how easy it has been to learn; I had been using a Singer from the late 80’s and a 1971 Touch and Sew 750.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Ann

Threads magazine had an article on double needle work within the last year. The cover has a white blouse with double needle work in contrasting color threads.
I don't know your machine, but I love to see twin needle work.
I use the feature on my machine to give a nice finished look to the hems of knit garments (like t-shirts for the kids). The needle is threaded with 2 spools and when you sew it picks up the bobbin needle in a zigzag pattern that gives some stretch to the stitch. Works great if you don't have a cover stitch on your serger.
Another application on the newer machines is to be able to sew designs with a twin needle, but you have to make sure that your throat plate opening is wide enough to accommodate the swing of the zigzag.
It's also great for making pintucks.
Play with it and have fun.
