Inspired by the Roses article in the latest Threads, I used Dad’s old ties to create roses and leaves. Natty style with sentimental overtones…I plan to make them for my 4 sisters too. I try to incorporate Dad’s old ties in garments as bindings, facings and trim. This was the perfect match of fabric and technique.

I LOVE this!!!! I am a volunteer teacher of creative sewing for a class of Winter Snowbirds and they have been asking for projects made from mens ties. I would love to get the instructions and show them how to make te=hese roses. Would you please share? Thank you.
Hi Pat,
So glad you like them. I am on my 5th one and they all look a little different and really nice. I got the idea from the latest threads, May 09, with the orange cover. Have fun and post some of your creations! My friend makes wallets out of men's ties, I'll try to get her to post. Cheers!
what a great idea to use old ties - gorgeous & very unique - I am off to riad hubbys wardrobe right now :)
