"a day van gogh might have painted"
this is an embroidery painting that were popular in China during the Song dynasty. i used a photo i shot of a local landscape and added my irish wolfhound and the mare and foal in the background. the watercolor was painted first on the thin silk and then i decided to embroider some of the painted areas. it is a delicate trying backing to work on and i am still learning just how gentle i need or don’t need to be. but the results are so rewarding that i want to perfect this medium. it is endearing.
