My daughter needed a costume she could flip in for her gymnastics party
My daughter is a gymnast, and she was determined that she had to have a costume with pants (because you can’t flip in a dress). I modified the pattern somwhat, since the overlay was supposed to be sheer…for the pants overlay I used a shiny satin, and to save time, instead of doing a narrow hem with metallic trim added later, I used a rolled hem on my serger with metallic thread. On the top I used satin under a sheer fabric. My local fabric store had samples of special order bridal lace that they added to the remnant bin for $1 each. so I managed to cut all the top overlay out of one of them.
The satin nd the fringe were the only fabrics that I didn’t already have in my stash, so I only spent about $7 to make the outfit. She loved it, adn had a great time.
