Dress form for the American Heart Association

This was a fun project, The American Heart Association provided small wire dress forms for us to create clothes for. I took mine added fleece to cover the wire frame, then to complete the look of a full size form i used one leg of an old pair of tights. pulled it over the fleece covered form and stitched the top and bottom. for  the fairy wings I used a lace butterfly machine embroider design. The design is done on a double layer of organza and sprayed with a heavy starch. The bodice of the dress is a Lace heart machine embroidery done on red organze and cut out. The skirt is red satin covered with petals of the same red organza. I used a small strip of the same red satin as the halter strap on the dress. Once completed they were turned into the American Heart Association to be raffled off to raise money. this was so much fun i may do two next year.

Lovely representation of AHA Red Dress Campaign.

The wire dressform is available from the company that I work for ... http://www.tmarco.com if you want to see several sizes of them.
