Link is normally seen wearing plain clothes but he is here in full armour. My son’s girlfriend, Anita, and I made most pieces. There were no patterns – just a photograph to go by. The character is supposed to be a water creature and thus the scales and fish-like tail on the helmet. Anita made the head portion of the helmet using an online printable pattern that required much cutting and gluing of tiny pieces of poster paper and then hardening it with resin before sandin and painting it. The costume included arm braces, tunic, vest, shorts and skirt. The designs on the helmet, vest and skirt were painted by hand. It was a lot of work but worth the effort and we’re quite proud of ourselves! Note: This is the first time Anita has really sewn something other than a pair of pyjama pants!
