Emerson’s Halloween 2018 costume. Emerson is our 2 year old granddaughter who has 2 older sisters. Oldest sister, Natalie, suggested Emerson be a Giraffe.
Find giraffe printed fleece that will be used for the body and white leggings and long sleeve T. Tea dye the shirt and leggings and then draw the giraffe spots onto the arms and up to thigh-high onto the leggings using dark brown fabric permanent markers. Create a headpiece using a beanie pattern, ping pong balls and cardboard tubing covered with opaque brown pantyhose wired through the beanie which has a headband connected on the inside. Add pipe cleaners to the back of shaped ears which are sewn into the center sean is the beanie for stability. Cut circles from felt that are clipped to form to create sun bursts and then fold in half and apply to beanie along with giant domed shanked buttons. Attach elastic for a chin strap.
