For the past 3 years I enjoyed taking my son to Halloween costume contests. Every year he’s won 1st place in many contests and even went viral the first year and was on the news. When my daughter was born we incorporated a costume both my kids can be in. This year was a hard year because of Covid but that didn’t stop me from still coming up with something amazing my babies can be. Throughout the years I have seen people on social media dress as Frida, so I decided to dress them up this year as Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. I remember watching the movie when it first came out and I loved it. I watched the movie again for the second time in September to see how I can create their costume. The movie is on Netflix if you haven’t watched it yet, check it out. Fridas bed played a big part in her story where She did most of her paintings, so I knew I wanted incorporate the bed as one of the main props. The pictures placed on the headboard are her familia. Parents, sisters, niece/nephew and husband just like the movie. Frida also had a monkey so I made sure to add that as well. I picked one of my favorite quotes to add with one of her paintings she made, and art brushes my kids can hold. My sister and husband worked on the bed which then my husband put onto a platform he made from a furniture cart making it easy to wheel them around Halloween events. I hope you guys loved the costume! 🙂
