The story behind creating the Tradition Quilt is as follows: 

The Tradition Quilt

 

In January of 2004 my mother succumbed to leukemia after being diagnosed about a year earlier.  After begging God for one more Christmas which he granted, I decided to make her a quilt to cover her legs while sitting in her wheel chair.  My mom never got to use her quilt as she died comfortably at home with my oldest sister.  While divvying up her belongings I requested to get the quilt but my oldest sister asked if she could keep it.  Even though I wanted the quilt I gave it to her.  After that I decided that the next year I would give each of my sisters a quilt with the expressed instructions that it would have to be passed down to one of their children.  When I realized that I had not made my self a quilt that same sister decided that though she would pass her quilt down to her son, mom’s quilt will be passed down to me, thus I end up with mom’s quilt which is what I wanted all the time.  Start your own tradition or you can share mine.  Enjoy with my blessings.
