She-ra Princess of Power
I drafted the patterns for everything including the craftfoam pieces, but the design of the actual costume is not mine since it's She-ra form Princess of Power. The main dress was a strapless sweetheart top made from white poplin and the lining of the bodice is a bottomweight so it was stand up better. The bodice also has boning in it for structure as well. The zipper and hook and eye are in the back. The skirt is the same polin and knife pleated to give a flared out look. The red cape is a red poplin gathered at the neck and sewn to elastic. The gold on the chest is a gold pvc cut and heat and bonded on. The gold of the bust wings, belt, arm guards, and headpiece are all craft foam. I assembled the pieces, covered them in modge podge to seal them and then painted them gold. The headpiece was then attached to a headband and elastic is hidden under the wig to keep it on my head. The arm guards were just sealed on the edges with hotglue and I fit my hands through them. The wings on the bust were just attached around the top with fabric tack. The belt is tacked to the dress. The Gems on the chest piece and headpiece were handcasted out of polyester resin and dyed by me. The boots were cut and spraypainted gold.
