Shraket – Shrug Jacket

Shraket, Shrug Jacket back

This is a “Shraket” a label I devised to describe a combination jacket and shrug. It is made from a shawl. I digitized the design from a cross stich magazine I purchased. I also placed small pieces of the design on the turned back sleeves and between the darts. The design takes about 3 days to digitize and 2 to stitch as well as three hoopings, then another several hours to attach the beads. Turning a rectangle into the “shraket” is inspired by a segment from a show on Martha Pullen a few years ago with a few modifcations on my part to make it more wearable.

Beautiful! Do you have a picture of you/someone wearing the shracket? I think I might need one... :-)
