I am a 56 year female. Married 30 years. 2 grown daughters and a 3 year old grandson. I always wanted to design clothes but could never afford the schooling. So I just designed and made cloths for my self and my daughters. My daughters both dances traditional Highland dance. I loved this cause I got to make the costumes. My oldest, Amber, quit dancing and got married. My youngest, Candice, still teaches choreography and Highland dance. She is now producing a children show called “Fife the Jester in Leaping Land”. This fall I am still making the costumes for the show. I will be working on the Wizard costume and the Puppets for the show, Ringo, the flamingo and Andy, the griffin. I just finished a beautiful one for the Green Girl that teaches about keeping the earth green. Hers is a celery green shift with a long tunic vest that has hundreds of hand painted leaves sewn on. I made a branch and leaf head piece and found a beautiful leather ‘leaf’ mask. I am making a Wolf head out of layers of glued together foam cushion material. We will be finishing it with fabric or a felt type painting, We are trying to make 12 “Fife” jester costumes to ultimately put in a calender with the other characters and children. Much of the proceeds going to our favorite, “Make A Wish” and “St.Jude Hospital” foundations.
We hope to make a pilot show to shop at the networks for national production. Its basic theme is exercise can be as fun as dancing, there is no wrong way to do it. Inspiring children to be creative and many other life’s lessons. Like good manners, They cost you nothing but they mean everything.
And this Jester is a hottie. You can see a tiny bit of her at www.jestersmother.4t.com
Children always love to get up and hop with her when she dances with her cool friends, The Wicked Tinkers.
I could go on but I better get back to the patterns and fabric.
