Any ideas what to do with these?

lou19 | Posted in General Discussion on

A while back I bought a joblot of sewing stuff on ebay. Included in the lot was a huge bag of these pink things. they are in matching pairs  with a quilted  floral pattern in dark purple thread. Each piece is about 5″ or 14 cm  in width and 13″ or 33cm  across.  the fabric is silky then there is a thin wadding then grey lining.

Would like to use them or maybe resell on ebay , but what are they? Are they collars?  bag pieces? any idea what could be made with them?

They look like collar pieces to me, bur they could also be pocket flaps.  How about a gorgeous satin swing coat with these appliqued down the front edge?

    They *are* beautiful, Lou!

The curved corners on the inside, though, makes me think that somebody goofed! I'm having trouble picturing these pieces being used exactly 'as is' for either pocket flaps or collars - Of course, that's probably why there are lots of them!

Do let us know what project(s) you decide on!

    Bright Blessings!  Kharmin

IMHO, they look like cuffs, designed to be stitched to the edge sleeve and flipped back.

Think you could be right about cuffs...........perfect fit at the wrist with the inner curve.

Thanks to other sewers for the other suggestions

.I have an idea of trying to make the pairs of  shapes more oval, then making zip up purses or small bags. I could try selling them at a school table top sale or donate to the local EMMAUS CHARITY which sells donated made items. Will post photo.

Honestly there are dozens of these shapes in the bag!
