Atlanta Fabric Stores?

Markenmac | Posted in General Discussion on

I live in the land of the big fabric store void and am going to be in Atlanta over the weekend.  Can someone recommend a good fabric fashion store (not decorator fabrics)?  Thanks!

Thanks...I imagined Atlanta would be a gold mine of fabric stores.  I'll give this one a try as it sounds like a great place.

I can think of one more:

Buckhead Bridal/Fabric Salon is an upscale fabric store where every bolt is exquisite...it's in the Tuxedo Plaza (Tuxedo Junction? something like that) shopping center on Roswell Rd.    If you're going to Gail K's already, Buckhead Fabric is about a ten minute drive away, and it's worth the drive.

There is also a place where you can be saris...Binny's.  I can't remember the address, but it would be worth looking up.

I too recommend Gail K's on Cheshire Bridge, but take a flashlight. Seriously! Some of their space is not well lit, with tall, almost to the ceiling, shelf-cases towering overhead so no light can get through. I've seen others with flashlights there, so no-one will bat an eye.

There's a Sari fabric store at Suburban Plaza on North Decatur Road in Decatur. They have lengths (usually 7 yards, I believe, or whatever is the usual sari drape) of quite wonderful border prints, in cotton and probably some blends. There are also synthetics, but I prefer the cottons. Like Gail K, though, you have to be willing to search through a lot of stuff you might not be interested in to find the treasures.

    Good luck shopping.

I'll put my flashlight in the car now.  I know this is going to be really interesting.

      Thanks,

      Mary
