Hi everyone. This is my first time on a message board so if I commit any really gross errors let me know. I picked up an old copy (Aug/Sept 1989 No. 24) magazine of Threads at my local Goodwill centre. I would like to know how to “bead knit” or perhaps apply beads to a needlepoint canvas. Has anyone done this type of work? Any ideas as to how or where or whom to contact for instructions on how to do this. I have checked the local library and book stores – nada, zip etc. Any suggestions – let me know. Thanks.

there are a ton of books available on this subject - a search on amazon.com of "knitting with beads" will bring up several books. For applying beads to wearables or needlepoint do a search on bead embroidery, that will also bring up several books on that subject.
A google search on these same terms will bring up some online instructions for you as well.
good luck !
Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I will do as you pointed out. Thanks.
I really like "Knit and Crochet with Beads" by Lily Chin. I think it's very thorough with techniques, it has a range of projects patterns that you can use to practice the techniques, and those projects are a good starting points for new project ideas.
Thank you for replying. I will try to get it. I just discovered there were two methods - beaded knitting and bead knitting (pictoral). The latter is the one I am interested in.
