Birmingham AL meetup or stitch’n’bitch?
G’day,
I moved to the Birmingham AL area four months ago from Toronto to join my new husband and head back to school for a while.
Now that we’re unpacked, I’m looking to start sewing again. Does anyone posting to the forums know of any local meet-up groups or stitch’n’bitch sessions? No one in my current UAB (University of Birmingham at Alabama) and community based circle of friends sews… so I need to branch out.
If there are none locally, I’m willing to start one, so also, let me know if you’re interested. I’m back at school for comp. sci. (building on my current graphic design background) and want to mess around with wearable electronics, so I’m interested in both regular fitting, fabrics and alterations type sewing, as well as artistic and engineering ventures.

Hi, there's a chapter of the American Sewing Guild in Birmingham. I tried to get into their website but needed to sign in as a member, you will have to write them at the address below. Also look in your browser, there's another site for sewers in Birmingham, looks like they do fibers and lacemaking.
