Burda World of BWOF Aussie supplier ?

Rubydarling | Posted in General Discussion on

Hi There,

I live in Australia and can not get hold of most sewing magazines without subscribing. I would love to subscribe to BWOF. Does any one know of an Australian company or magazine supplier or website through which I can subscribe rather than go via German ?
Thanks

    Ruby,

These Australian Websites supply the English Version:

    http://www.isubscribe.com.au/title_info.cfm?prodID=7645&catID=15

    http://www.magshop.com.au/Burda_Mode_Magazine.htm

If for some reason the links do not work,

    http://www.isubscribe.com.au in Category 'Euro Magazines'

    http://www.magshop.com.au in Category 'Fashion'

I've used "isubscribe" for Down Under Quilts with sucess.

Thanks heaps Cheerypops ! I'll try them today. I wasn't looking forward to paying EUR 66.27 for 12 issues direct from Germany. I've seen sooo many great clothes made with Burda patterns on people's blogs lately, I felt like I was missing out. Thanks again Rubydarling

You are welcome Ruby. They are good magazines, I flip through when I can at the newsagents. Have too much to do at the moment, to add more to the stash. Enjoy!

I just subcribed through mag shop. Your lucky to have the option of flicking at the newsagent. None of my locals seem to have any sewing mag's. Just cross stitch and quilting. Thanks again Rubydarling

I found on my shopping travels Borders Bookstores ,( a great childrens section keeps my son occupied ) and they supply a large number of Craft Mags.

http://www.borders.com.au are in Victoria, depends where you are distance wise, have a look anyways.

They get a lot of overseas magazines, and will consider stocking items of interest. The Sewing Mags will be a little more expensive buying off the shelf. which is why I subscribe, and they arrive in great condition. Just received the latest Threads, perfect.

        >>> I wasn't looking forward to paying EUR 66.27 for 12 issues direct from Germany.

Last time I checked, the cost to subscribe direct to Germany, was around $60 AU cheaper than subscribing through an Australian Distributor.

The Burda direct subscribed magazines, arrive the month of release, eg, Aussie subscribers will receive Sept issue around the 10th of Sept, give or take a day or so.

I believe Australian subscriptions are 2-3 months behind and cost the same as buying a single copy at a newsagent or Borders.

Whichever way you subscribe, they are well and truly worth the cost :)

Thanks for this information.  It didn't seem worthwhile subscribing if the cost is so close to the one charged by my newsagent.  Do you subscribe from Germany?  I have read posts on PR that it is easy to organize over the phone.

          Marg.

I subscribed through magshop yesterday. And silly me went to Borders bookshop today and found it sitting there on the shelf. How annoying! Any way I have copyies comming regularly now so no drama. And I bought the copy sitting on the shelf.
            Thank every one

Margie, I subscribe direct to Burda Germany. The magazine arrives like clockwork around the 1st to 2nd week of each month. We should be receiving September's issue any day now. The website has instructions for subscribing or you can telephone or email.

I feel the $9 per magazine (direct subscription cost) is exceptional value for fashion forward, beautifully drafted patterns..especially when a pattern on sale here in Oz costs that much on sale. There is always a lot of chat about BWOF on PR and on the Yahoo group "Burda English"

Thanks for letting me know that there is a yahoo group - have applied to join it.  I will organize to subscribe from Germany - it would be great to save $8.00 a copy and it would also be great to receive it on time instead of 3 months later.

            Marg.
