button button who’s got the button

healingtouch3 | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

I have just begun sewing again after many years “in retirement.”  I am having a terrible time finding interesting “artsy” buttons – the kind that make a jacket or coat.

I would appreciate any suggestions for on-line sources for buttons.

Thanks in advance.

    Maybe there's something here:

    http://www.renaissancebuttons.com/

    http://www.bluemoonbuttons.com/index.htm

http://www.creativeimpressionsinclay.com/ Their coin button selection is interesting

Knitting shops and yarn suppliers often carry unusual buttons - you can google this. Here's one to get you started

    http://www.muenchyarns.com/

    Magazines such as

    http://www.ornamentmagazine.com/

    http://www.beadandbutton.com/

    http://www.stampington.com/html/Belle_armoire.html

have advertisements which will lead you to new sources of art buttons.

    Good luck!

Healingtouch3 doesn't seem to be picking up but since some of you seem to be interested in buttons, let me add to to list by suggesting the following resource:

Wow, lots of button resources posted here.  Three more I use are:

    http://www.mjtrim.com/

https://www.buttonshoppe.com/  (this site sometimes has broken links, and can be a pain to navigate, but it has a good assortment of buttons.)

    http://reprodepotfabrics.com/index.html  (cool vintage and retro)

Glad that you are back in action!
