Buttonholes

Pearl5 | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

Hi everyone.  I am having trouble with buttonholes on my Pfaff2054.  The manual doesn’t give much information and I don’t understand how to program the length of the buttonhole, etc.  Can anyone help?

My Pfaff is a 21 44 but I'd guess it's similar.  You need to use both pieces in the accessories box.  The larger one fits into a slot on the rear of the machine behind the cover plate and the other as the presser foot.  I put the butt onto the screen to select the length and then enter in mm's on the function button.  It took me a number of tries and I'm still working on it, but the buttonholes are great and can be repeated.  Wanoosnoc

Thanks for your help.  By trial and error, I've discovered another way that may help you as well.  On a scrap fabric, draw the length of the buttonhole required.  Use the program feature on the machine instead of entering the MM.  Begin stitching at the top of the line, hit reverse at the bottom of the line and the machine will program the buttonhole and you can use it for all the ones you need for that particular blouse or whatever.  It will not store this in memory, however, so complete the BHs at one time.
