Cloud Skirt

Threads Forum | Posted in General Discussion on

Hi I have decided to tackle the skirt from the May 2008 issue. The Susan Crane said that it was easy to do. However, I am struggling with the pattern for the outer skirt. I am ok with spreading and lengthening patterns individually, but this is the first time I have attempted to both to a skirt that has a lot of fullness. I have done points 1 and 2 but I am struggling with point 3. I don’t know where to start with this. As the drawing is not to scale, I am struggling to use the diagram. I have already spent about 4 hours tearing my hair out! Can anyone give me some tips on how to do step 3?

Thanks in advance

    Hello, Qugirl35!

I have wanted to make that skirt, too, but haven't had the courage to try, yet. Unfortunately, I don't have any really good suggestions for you, but thought I'd cheerlead from the sidelines. Hopefully, someone with real information will answer.

    Good luck,

    ~Tracy

    Cloud Skirt

I have finally made it! It turned my hair grey from frustration due to the lack of instructions on how to draft the pattern! Anyway anyone who is going to attempt this and like me, did not have a clue, i am happy to pass on how I suceeded in making this rather dramatic looking skirt!
