Design Board

Mikki | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

Hello Everyone,

I’ve been searching for 1/2″ foam core board that’s 24″ by 48″ as seen in a recent Threads issue for making a folding design board.  Does anyone know of a source for this that won’t cost an arm and a leg?

Try local art supply and architectural supply stores. University book stores, if you've got one handy.

If you can deal with thicker, try one of the "big box" lumber and tools

places like Lowe's or Home Depot-- back in the insulation, there should

be some thicker rigid plastic foam sheet stock that is not "bead board"

(i.e., it shouldn't look like a cheap styrofoam cooler).

If you can support it on some sort of frame, another material to consider is homosote, available in just about any lumberyard. Cheap,

    too. ;-)

Don't know where you live, but Pear Paint in NYC and on LI is a great source.  They are on line too.
