My husband is buying me a serger for my birthday. I picked out a Simplicity Frontier. My problem is there is only one place to buy them in town and that is Wal Mart. I have been told never to buy machines from them. I need to know if any of you have ever bought sewing machines from them and if so how did you like them. If I could get an answer quickly It would be great. WE will be ordering off the internet latter. Thanks bunches Debbie

I bought a Brother serger (1034 I think) recently from Walmart for use in costume shop at the high school. It 3 and 4 thread serges great. Rolled hem no good - could be my fault, I was in a hurry. At home I have a Babylock Imagine Serger - worth every penny. The Brother is OK for costumer kids (who have never sewn) to whip up simple costumes. I bought myself a Brother 8072 from Walmart. Perfectly happy. I was told by that old nebulous "someone" that discontinued Brother machines are sold at Walmart with different number than Brother store. The 8072 is really the 2800. Seems to work just fine.
