indentifying vintage fabric

Kathy_McGuire | Posted in Fabric and Trim on

Hi – I have some vintage upholstery fabric that I am trying to find out the name for. It was popular in the 50’s I think. I remember my grandmother having a sofa covered with similar fabric. I think it is made from rayon, it has a nubby patterned texture (I believe the pattern is referred to as a frieze). Can any of you help me figure it out. I can email a phot, if necessary.

Thanks,

Kathy

My guess is that it is nylon. MIL had a sofa covered in green nylon frieze and I think her grandkids are still using it. Stuff never wears out!
