Integrated support garments

CathyB | Posted in General Discussion on

A couple of weeks, I saw a show about Princess Diana’s dresses, and the strapless dresses, probably all the dresses, had integrated support garments so she never had to know the disgrace of visable undergarment lines.

Anyone know of a resources for those type of techniques?  The dress they showed seemed to have kind of a corset of lycra or some other stretch fabric that was zipped or hooked up under the outer fabric.

I wondered if there are clues in how costumers create garments where the wearer will have a lot of movement.

Any ideas, anyone?

I think there is a whole lot of boning going on.  I have even used it in dance costumes.
