Interfacing for men’s ties

whatsewever | Posted in General Discussion on

What is the best kind of interfacing to use when making mens ties?  Where on line could I purchase this type of interfacing?

Try Greenberg & Hammer or Atlanta Sewing Supply. Or you could cannibalize a good quality, good-condition-but-ugly thrift shop tie.

Thanks for the info.  I am planning to make and sell some hand painted silk ties for both men and women so I think I prefer to buy new interfacing.  I have bought second hand silk ties at the Thrift to patch a silk jacket that keeps wearing out in certain areas.  Nothing wrong with recyling.

On Peggy Sagers site, http://www.silhouettepatterns.com, she sells Tie Interfacing that they use in sleeve caps. My assumption is that this in one type of interfacing to use with ties.

Thanks for the information.  I checked out the site "Silhouette Pattern" and they have just what I am looking for.   I will most certainly place an order for the interfacting. The trip to NY City they offer is a trip I always want to do but unfortunately I am  in ice cold Canada and it seems no one here offer such an exciting trip.

I have also check out the sites that other members sent and am very greatful for all this wonderful information.
