Lighting in Sewing Room

I have very poor lighting in my new sewing room. When we built the home, the lighting people were not very helpfull in selection of fixtures. My room have three large windows facing west and on facing south. My machine is on the west wall so that I may enjoy a wonderful view. I have a ceiling fixture in the center of the room. The problem is I am unable to see my display screen on my machine. I have thought of having a strip of spot lights install off my ceiling fixture. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Attached is a rough drawing of my sewing room.

Well my sewing machine is under a western window with a small florescent tube above the window, one beneath the window behind s. machine,4ft. florescent in the ceiling and then I have a "goose-neck" style lamp that I pull to the front of my machine. All this lighting in a white laundry room makes for a well-lit sewing room for 55yr. old eyes and I need every drop of it! I have no trouble seeing the screen of my machine. Can you adjust the contrast on the screen?
