lining silk drapes

ally | Posted in General Discussion on

I am looking for suggestions on lining red and gold silk drapes with a dim out lining. Any suggestions on weight of the lining to be used? thanks.

By dim out lining are you referring to the kind that blacks out light? If so, you will not have too much choice as that is a quite heavy fabric. But I don't know why you couldn't use it with silk.

Hi Ally, I do this for a living and I suggest that you use reg. lining and inter-lining, its a felt type fabric that really will give great results with silk drapes. It will make them opaque. I often line the out side with a complimentary color to the other side of the window, as I feel I'm decorating both views, usually to a patio by the pool.
