Mini Iron (Clover)

genevieve | Posted in Equipment and Supplies on

Hello sewing friends,

Has anyone found the mini iron really useful / not much use etc.  I have a Laura Star steam iron, but can’t use on polar fleece which I sew on a lot. Wondered if the Clover mini was any value for that?   Genevieve.

Hello there genevieve,                                                                                               the sole plate on the mini iron is only as big as your thumb, would'nt be without it for quilting and for fusible bias tape for celtic work and stained glass windows again both quilting. I hope this helps some how.

    regards and happy stitching,

I am hoping to buy the mini iron at the Craft fair in Sydney ( going July 1). Lincraft had them this week for just $40. I didn't get there early enough, all sold out. Very handy tool, not that I do much quilting but I'm sure I'll find other uses for it.

Hello Genevieve, I find the little Clover iron very handy to have around. My sewing room is too small for full sized iron and board, so I have a pressing board near to the machines, and I use the Clover for short seams, collar points, and other fiddley bits, but so far not on Fleece. I also find a steam travel iron useful. I'll try to do a test on some fleece, and get back to you. Best wishes  Ella

thanks Ella, I'll read with interest.  On another note, Ihave just bought the Clover Needle felter and mat, and I'am having a great time experimenting - works a treat on polar fleece.  happy sewing  genevieve
