I have a woodworking husband and have asked him if he could make me a custom presser clapper for dressmaking. I can find pictures to show him but no details on the design dimensions, particularly the top section for seams and points. Has anyone ever come across a design they can point me to?
Many thanks

Here are the dimensions of mine, although I don't think they are critical to the function:
base 2 3/4 x 12 1/2 , 1 1/2 thick
handle/point presser: 3 3/8 x 16 3/8, 3/4 thick (all dimensions are in inches)
The point tapers up from the bottom, and in from the sides.
Mine is oak--no resin, and nice and heavy.
Hope this helps.
Thank you
I've been wanting to know the same thing and appreciate your taking the time to provide these dimensions. I have been a sewer for over half a century and have never had a clapper for some reason -- procrastination, laziness, being too cheap to buy one... LOL. I've begun to dabble a bit in woodworking, so this will be a perfect project for me.
Thank you!
Hi
Thanks for taking the time to measure your presser clapper, the dimensions are really helpful.
I will now set hubby to work......
Thanks again
