Protecting your fabric

Belindasews | Posted in General Discussion on

I wonder if anyone has any ideas of how I can protect fabric from frays.  I made my first Irish dancing costume… All sequins with satin trim (pleats)  The problem is the pleated trim on the wrist area rubs on the sequin fabric causing the satin to look old and pulled.  Is there any coating I could spray on this satin,  I might even consider Mod Podge just to coat the fabric.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try out some of your options on scraps first...
Spray starch, re-spray after each wash.
