Seamtresses chanel wearing little bags

hester | Posted in General Discussion on

In the documentary about chanel you can see that the seamstresses are wearing little toolbags. I think that i have seen an article about and/or a pattern but I cannot find them anymore. Can somebody help me?

TIA!

Hester

    Channel Seamstress

Perhaps it was a Chateline, or their version of a basic Chateline (sewing tools on a chain).

Quick to Make: Little black sewing bag by Susan Crane in no. 149

Hi Hester, I remember that story.

Susan Crane wrote it after studying the little black bags the French fashion-house seamstresses wore. It's in Threads no. 149 (June/July 2010), pp. 64-67. It's available as part of the Insider membership if you don't have the issue.

The story has the pattern and instructions to make your own.

    Best regards,
