Sewing Circle Mystery Novel Release Info

MissTeriRiter | Posted in General Discussion on
For those of you who were interested in more information about my upcoming mystery novel, here is an update:

I’ve been given an official launch date for the first book in my new sewing circle mystery series.  In light of that, I’d like to pass on my name and website information for those interested in learning more (the news page of my site will be updated soon with more information as I receive it).

Although my real name is Laura Bradford, I will be writing this series under the pseudonym, Elizabeth Lynn Casey.

The first book in the series will be SEW DEADLY and will release with Berkley Prime Crime (Penguin) on August 4, 2009.

To those who offered tips, thank you. Some will be used on the “tips” page at the back of the book. Since this is the first in a series, I’m always on the lookout for more. So please feel free to keep them coming as I’ll be starting on the second book in just a few short weeks! But those tips can be sent to me via the contact page of my website:

If you offer a tip I use in my second book, I’ll send you a free copy of that book. But I will need a regular mailing address to do so.  The second book will be out (guessing at this point) in early to mid 2010.

Thank you!

Congratulations. And it's very thoughtful of you to let us know about the expected publishing date, and your name and nom de plume, so we can be on the lookout. I look forward to seeing your books.

Congratulations are certainly in order. I look forward to your upcoming novels. Mysteries I like to, and one surrounding sewing is a new one for me.

Oh, I'm so pleased you're back! Congratulations! I'm looking forward to reading your book when it comes out.

In England, there is an expression called a "busman's holiday". The idea is that bus drivers often take Greyhound bus-like trips when they have vacation time, thus rarely leaving "bus world" for very long. I appreciate that you're giving us a "sewer's holiday" - when we're not sewing, now we can be reading about it!

    Thanks so much!

    :) Mary

This is very exciting news!  I look forward to your first Sewing Circle Book in the series!  I love mysteries.  Your website and bio are interesting, I love Mary Higgins Clark books too.  Best wishes on your new series!  Mary

I'm looking forward to your new book. In fact, I'm going to try to find your previously published books, too. I LOVE mysteries. Enjoyed your website. Is that Harlan Coben in the picture with you that enabled you to speak to Agatha Christi? I am impressed. He's one of my all time favorites. You gotta be good if you are hanging with authors of his caliber.

Good luck and best wishes for a long, prolific, and profitable career.

Yes that is Harlan Coben in the picture on my website. He put me on the phone with Mary Higgins Clark who is my all-time favorite mystery writer. It was a moment I will not soon forget.  On a side note, I'm in the process of putting together a site where people can come to chat about sewing, books, life, whatever...all in preparation for my book. I'll post a link when the site is ready to go!  In the meantime, thanks for all the warm wishes!

Shoot, I had a brain fart there. I MEANT to say Mary Higgins Clark! Sorry. Anyhow, I've bookmarked your site and am looking forward to its enhancement.

Oh, I love cosy mysteries especially when they feature sewing, like Monica Ferris does! I will be looking forward to it! don't forget to post when it actually comes out and congratulations. Do you have other books out also and under what names.

I have 3 boxes of mysteries stashed away for winter reading as the thought of being snowed in with less than 100 books to be read gives me the willies.

Congratulations!  2009 is sure to be an exciting year for you!

Like our other Gatherings friends, I'll be on the look out for the book.  Keep us informed!
