I am wondering if anyone has read or used the book: Sewing for the Apparel Industry ?
It is written by Claire Shaeffer, who has written several books, I like the way she presents information, this one is a textbook. It is expensive so I thought I would ask and see if anyone has found it worth the money.

You're right, it is an expensive book. And although I never hesitate to recommend a book by Claire Shaeffer, this one didn't do it for me. It just didn't have what I expected in terms of quick and easy methods. And I have taken industrial sewing at design school - I was looking for a text to reinforce what I had learned in school and add to my knowledge base.
FWIW, the text refers to the patterns and templates that you use to do the exercises. No such patterns were included with my book and I have yet to lay my hands on them. Nor are they mentioned on the cover as included. I would think that, in order to get the most out of this book, you would need the patterns.
I am so glad you knew about this book. I am always amazed by the amount of knowledge in this forum. I am relieved I didn't buy the book, it doesn't sound like it is helpful out of a classroom. The volume of the books sold was really high so I thought it must be a good book...but something told me to check before spending so much money. Thank you, jane
You're welcome. Glad I could help.Sandy
