sewing on button covered without a kit

HelgaPataki | Posted in Fabric and Trim on

Hi everybody, has anyone ever sewed right through the fabric, say use the button holes that are already wrapped up and sew right throught it? did you like the results?

I left a link of what I meant by wrapped without a kit:  http://mademoisellechaos.blogspot.com/2010/03/my-super-secret-sewing-project.html

thank you.

results depend on fabric and size of the button. As always test first. What the site doesn't say is how they are sewn on....you need to make a small thread shank to allow for fabric if you sew on using the orginal holes or without the holes.

varying ways to sew on covered button

I use the back to make my shank, but I was wondering how pleasing is to the general public if the original button holes were used and sewn right through the fabric.  Just  a general question to the general public.
