I live in New York and would like to spend a weekend or a few days at a sewing retreat but I can’t seem to find anything close. Does anybody know of any sewing retreats in the Northeast? Thanks.

I don't live in New York, but my local ASG chapter organizes retreats in our area. Have you tried contacting your local ASG chapter. Here is the link to the New York area chapters.

Thanks! I sent them an e-mail.
It depends on what kind of retreat you want. What are you interested in sewing? Claire Shaeffer and Susan Khalje both hold week long retreats. At the risk of sounding like a shill (I'm not), you might want to check the ads in the back of Threads.Ann
The NJ / NY PACC (Professional Association of Custom Clothiers) is have a 3 day regional conference April 13 - 15, 2007 in Lyndhurst, NJ which is a short bus ride from Port Authority. Or if you don't want to commute back and forth every day, they made arrangements with the Quality Inn in Lyndhurst, NJ where you can stay. There is a bus stop for NYC right at the corner.
There will be classes on how to start a sewing business, making bound buttonholes, draping a bodice, making bustling gowns, applications of color theory and more. The conference begins with a day partaking of fun activities in NYC and then 2 days of classes in NJ.
Anyway, I have attached a copy of their brochure where you will find more details about the event and how to register in case you're interested.
This is great! Thanks alot.
