Does anyone know of a device with which to create chenille dots? A friend of mine (in her 70’s) was telling me she found a “frame” that her mom used to use to make chenille dots on fabric. She gestured to indicate its size ~ about 18″ or 24″ square. She didn’t know what it was actually called, so that sort of precludes me googling more info. Her mom was 94 when she died about 5 years ago, and left behind an attic full of long forgotten oddities.

OK. I visited the crazycakes.biz site to take a close look at vintage chenille. She obviously uses vintage chenille fabric (probably machine made bedspreads) but some pieces were added to with what looked like french knots and needle punch. Do you think that maybe the square "frame" is part of a needle punch kit? Maybe had round dowels on 2 ends to roll yardage after being punched?
