I’ve been making soft toys lately as gifts for the grandchildren of friends – great fun and the kids love them. Does anyone know where I can buy the squeakers that are often inserted into commercially produced toys? These are ideal noisemakers as they are sewn into the item and so pose no danger to littlies.
Thanks – Katina

Hi Katina --
I recently picked up a set of "squeakies" at the local Petsmart. They are made for dog toys, but they are definitly "nibble proof.

Great! I'd never have thought of looking there.
Thanks very much, Linny.
Hi Linny
Thanks again for the info - I have my squeakers now.
This little thread got me thinking.. and I picked up a batch of squeakers this weekend and made chewies for some of my favorite pups!
(I don't have a dog, but all my friends have dogs..)
Matty (cattle dog "niece") would probably review the toy as follows:
- Throw it throw it throw it!
- AHA, now I have it... ooho, it makes nice noise....
- Throw it throw it throw it...
- Hmm, the noise is fun.... I am going to go spend some quality time with my new "catch"
- no, you can't have it back

It's been awhile since I bought some, but the ones I got came from sewbaby.com.
This is a very useful site - thanks for pointing it out.
