Thank you for such a good welcome.Tonight I will set-up the sewing machine. I have started reading sewing books.Trying to remember key words and diaograms in the sewing world. I hope that sewing will be like my love for gardening. I want to make simple things for my grandchildren. When I think back on all the cute summer sets my mother made for my sister and I they were great. Know one ever had the same clothes. First step is to try an thread the machine”not sure if the manual is missing” the box kicked around from closet to closet this last yr”. Second step try making a runner and table mats for Thanksgiving.

You have lined up wonderful projects for your jump back into sewing. The placemats and table runner will probably be lots of straight stitching and no fitting issues! Just the thing to help you get acquainted with your machine. Post pictures if you can--we love to see what everyone's doing!
Great starting projects. You can also experiment with machine stitches on table mats and runners. Practice threading machine by changing thread colors on some mats and runners. Since it's for Thanksgiving, you can choose threads that are the color of the leaves turning colors on the trees on a background of green fabric.
Just a suggestion. Don't go by me, have fun.
