I really must say here that just received the copy of Sew stylish.
I ordered it a)give it to my daughter as she is trying to learn more about sewing for herself now left home and b)to see if it was an interesting read/informative for pupils at school and c) to check it out!
Yes I know Ive seen some of it in Threads
but
as a starter mag
I think its brilliant!
And do u know why?
You are getting ur money’s worth!!!
Loads of info – full to the end of the mag – and not shedloads of advertising!!! I can recommend it to any of my pupils (just thought – could it be like loving the new addition to the family – better hang fire and see if next issues are the same quality???)
Please Amber – note well – the Threads mag I love – but get really p…s..d off at the amount of adverts in relation to rest of mag and (here I’m going to be really unpopular – apologies to other posters)
I didn’t have to trawl through pages of rather silly suggestions for what to do with things at the front of the mag (1oo ways to stuff a mushroom???or what)
Actually I will temper that statement and say SOME of the letters etc. are useful!!
Phew – got it off my chest!
I feel better already!

I agree that it was a terrific buy for someone who hasn't been reading Threads. I, also noticed and liked the sparse advertising. I have recommended it to a couple of people who haven't done much sewing.
