I am lucky enough to have a near-complete run of Threads from issue 1. Is there an index that covers all these years? I thought there used to be one for issue 80 to the present, but with the new website, I cannot find it. Do you know where that index might be?
I cringe to think what it would take to make my own index for all those years–certainly Threads itself has it; it’s just a question of knowing where to look.

To find the complete index for all issues, click on MAGAZINE in red above, and then in MAGAZINE on the new page that comes up. A drop-down menu for the index will appear.
I never would have figured that out. Thanks for the tip. Two headers that look the same, but have different options?? You saved me. I would sure like to have a list I could download into Excel and search offline, adding my own keywords.
Back issues themselves are hard to find--they are only listed under Books, not under Magazines.

I am not keen on the way the index is organized. Sometimes it is impossible to find something even though you know darn well it is there.
Try this site. I've really found it helpful and sometimes better than the Threads index.

I'm 4 issues shy of the complete run of Threads and the issues I need are up for auction on ebay so hopefully I can get them. I love reading and looking through them when I'm not feeling up to sewing and it is amazing how an article that didn't interest me several years ago now is more important. One of the reasons I'm aghast at people who clip out articles that are important to them at the time and then trash the magazine. They are missing so much, or maybe they had an opportunity to take the sewing classes that I didn't.
I'm glad to know that there is a an on-line vesion of the index for when I don't want to rummage through all 100+ issues for that one article I need.
