Traveling with sewing machine

Gal11 | Posted in General Discussion on

I need advice on traveling (by air) with my sewing machine. My machine is a Pfaff (20+ years old) with a hard shell case. I was informed by a sewing machine store that I could carry it on the plane although it will not fit under the seat. Any advice on this? Thanks!

    Hi gal,

I, too, have a 20 year old Phaff that I travel with regularly.  It has a hard case but I've felt safer placing it in a roller suitcase and have never had any problems though I handcarry it onto the plane.   I've even taken it with me on several cruises.  My husband always wants to take a cruise right before the holidays and I have too many gift projects to get done.  I find sewing relaxing anywhere I might be!
