My goal is to make each one of my grandchildren a quilt. Well this is the first quilt. Ojore was my youngest grandchild when I started his quilt, now he has a younger sister. I wanted to start with the youngest grandchildren first.
This is the quilt top, I am going to take it to the quilt shop to have it quilted. I have included photos of Ojore with his cousins, mom, dad, and grandparents. I forgot also photos of his little sister.
I chose this quilt design because he loves trucks. I also put Ojore’s picture in the windows of some of the trucks so that it will look like he is driving them.
I got the pattern from Clothide.com but I used some of my own ideas to embellish it.
How clever! I guarantee he will treasure this always. True story, I made a quilt for my boy who is now in the Air Force. When he graduated high school, I was sorting and throwing out old stuff, the quilt was worn, frayed and basically falling apart. I threw it out thinking I'd make a new one when he got married. Some months later, I noticed something stuck under his bed. Yep, the quilt, rescued from the trash and hidden for safe keeping. You have given Ojore something that will he will always love, and will always bring back memories of his precious Grandmother.
