I used a designer cranberry red cotton poplin for the main fabric of the dress. The silk chiffon accent fabric was hand-dyed by me, and I used a brighter red silk charmeuse for the lining. This dress is part of my Garment-a-Month project. I am not only trying to hone my skills and stay creative, but also making a conscious effort to become self-reliant when it comes to wardrobe. And, get a better fit than prêt-à-porter clothing!
