This is another outfit for office which I loved alot and made quite long time ago … may be 3 years.
It was light brown (beach sands) pre-embroidered linen (small flowers and leaves vine, the embroidered thread was the same tone with fabric so it wasn’t cleared on the photos). Light sugarbrown nylon lining. As I treated for the garment before cutting : soaked in medium hot water with a piece of “alum” rock (vietnamese called “phen chua”) overnight to get the maximum shrink so that later on the outfit wasn’t needed “dry clean”. Machine washed ok – Cold water, hand-wash cycle, once a while using softener, iron – no problem…
Without pattern, using basic cutting for the skirt, I cut the basic form on paper. Then decided the details on skirt, where needed to be cut out then placed the paper sample on garment, extended cutting lines enough to get look as desired. I loved the back look. The center part of the back was inside pleated (kind of 2 layers of faric there) it was soft like seating on thin cushion which I really needed. Remember I have thin body… LOL). No zipper but used 2 lines of 3 covered buttons in front (for opening I used only one side )
The top is quite the same as I cut out from sample paper after designing. It looked good except I screwed up the top part in the back (It should’ve been 1 piece only). The reason why I had to make this because my office was always colder than other parts of the building – not knowing why. I wore light jackets, wool cardigans… all along summer time at work.
Anyway that was it. I loved it. My collegues loved it. How about you? Please share with me….Thanks!!!!
