This was a fun challenge for me. I’m no slouch when it comes to conventional sewing, but using a serger is something I haven’t done much of. Pretty proud of the results. The pattern was from Burda style magazine, published 6/2009, design #129. Edges of bodice drape pieces, hems on sleeves and skirt all finished with twin needle with allowances trimmed close to stitching. Fabric from the stash, of unknown origin–it was gifted to me from my late step-mother.

Beautiful dress! Is the pattern you used still available?
KateAthy, the pattern came from Burda Style Magazine, a monthly magazine with an insert of about thirty multi-sized patterns in each issue. I bought mine from my local bookstore, but the pattern came from the issue put out in June, 2009. GLP International offers subscriptions, and I believe you can also order back issues.
