The print fabric was given to me by one of my sewing students, so I took it as a challenge to create a simple garment with just one yard of fabric. In order to make the skirt long enough, I added a wide waistband using some nice black stretch material I had left over from a pair of pants I had made. I then dug through my stash and found some polished cotton piping to create a false hem. I must admit I was surprised at how good the skirt looks on the body. Now I’ll need to make a little red sweater to cover the black tank.
