Pixelated Quilt – The Tenth

THE TENTH quilt // Kristy Daum // St. Louis Folk Victorian

For the unfamiliar, this is a pixelated quilt titled THE TENTH, that I made of David Tennant as the 10th Doctor from BBC’s Doctor Who. I had seen some pixelated quilts previously and knew that one day I wanted to make one of my own; but whom to pixelate was the question.

This quilt top measures approx 70″ x 100″…yep, that’s a little over 8ft and is made from small 1 1/2″ squares and 1 1/2″ strips of fabric. If that wasn’t crazy enough, early estimates assumed that it would take months to finish…yet, I spend all of my free-time putting this one together between April 1st and April 21st. I finished it in 51 hours and have the spreadsheet to prove it.

You can read all about my process, see the geeky spreadsheet I made and see lots more photos on my blog  http://stlouisfolkvictorian.blogspot.com/2013/04/pixelingthe-finaleotherwise-known-as.html

What’s worse is that now that I’ve made one…I kinda want to do another 🙂

Thanks for checking out my quilt.
