Here are two photos of the purse I recently finished. I chose coordinating quilting cottons in brights on black, and bright green zippers (one on each side) close two of the pockets. The front and back are identical. The interior view shows three additional pockets. It was the first time I had applied magnetic snaps, and that went well. The pattern is “A Cute Bag” by Wonderwoman Quilts (wonderwomanquilts.com).
Although I’ve made everything from wedding gowns to bathing suits, as well as numerous bags, I found this pattern to be somewhat challenging, as it is more detailed than other bags I’ve made. However, the designer, Ginnie, was very willing to answer questions via email as I went along. I took a break from it to make other projects (grandchildren have birthdays!), but finally finished it, and am enjoying using it as my purse.
When I wear it, because of the way the handle tabs are set, it is worn crossing from right (neck/shoulder) to left (hip). I thought it might be awkward for me, because I am right handed, but it seems to work very well. I’ve had a number of nice compliments on it, even from people who have no idea I sew!
Will I make another/more? Yes! I already have two more sets of hardware for the handles!
Your bag is adorable! I love the fabric combination.
Thank you so much! I love brights-on-black prints, and have quite a few from which to choose. I've been enjoying using it.
