Grown-Up Halloween!

Jim and Jan on the way out to a Halloween party!

Grown-up Halloween is cool because you get to go out looking nice and have a good time with no pressure to create a new costume every year (but you still can if you decide to :)).
I used Simplicity patterns # 4762 (Men’s vest) and #8648 (Duster). For the slip dress, I drafted my own pattern from an old slip dress that I love.
I am very proud of the vest, as it is lined and has flattering darts and the belt in the back sinches it up a bit. I hand stitched the buttonholes and made a nice collar. I think Jim will use it every year!
I’m excited to make the duster in other fabrics. It was pretty easy, even though I have only been sewing for a year.
We were very comfortable and stylish at our Halloween Party!
