The American Sewing Expo in conjunction with PatternReview.com are sponsoring the Natural Fabric contest.

If you’ve never entered a sewing contest before, this is your opportunity to give it a try. You have plenty of time to plan and create an awesome garment.

Natural Fabrics Contest
PatternReview.com and The American Sewing Expo (ASE) are sponsoring the Natural Fabrics Contest. Simply make a garment from 100% cotton, wool, silk or linen. Digital photos of your garment must be submitted by August 10, 2010. Finalists will be asked to send their garment to ASE by September 18, 2010, for final judging by contest judges Julianne Bramson and Kenneth D. King. The contest will culminate with a gala runway fashion show during the ASE’s annual conference in Novi, Michigan, on September 25. The winners will be announced following the fashion show.

You never know–your garment could be among those featured. Be sure to read the contest press release for additional rules and details. Prizes are sponsored by Fabric.com; Fashion-Fabrics Club, and Islander Sewing Systems.

If you’ve entered similar sewing contests in the past and can give advice to those who have never done so, please write and share your words of wisdom. I know your suggestions or cautions will be appreciated.
